Ellyn Shook once wrote, "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire." If you have the courage to pursue something that truly sets your soul on fire, you will always thrive. So many people are "burned out" by too much work, an over-filled schedule, or too much activity. But maybe it's not the amount of work that causes us to feel drained, maybe it's the kind of work we're doing. We can't quit our day jobs as responsible adults to pursue our dreams at the drop of a hat. BUT, we can pursue what sets our souls on fire - our true passions - both inside or outside of our day-to-day duties. And, when the time is right, we will be able to live in it. Sometimes, we are a little too practical to let ourselves be dreamers. But it's healthy to set goals that move you closer to that dream. There is nothing wrong with wanting different things for yourself or for others. Moving towards your passion isn't materialistic - you're just choosing a better direction to go in. Most of the time, this benefits everyone dear in your life. Here is one of my favorite quotes from Mark Twain...:Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than the ones you did. So, throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, Dream, Discover." Passion changes everything, and your life unfolds in proportion to your courage - so pursue what lights up your soul.
